For over 25 years Three Hands has sat between businesses and charities, running projects designed to benefit both. We spent years designing challenging charity projects for corporate leadership and talent programmes, running high-impact skills-based volunteering, and building innovative social impact programmes.
Through that work we kept noticing the same thing: Every time businesses engaged with charities, they learnt something – about their customers, and about societal issues affecting them.
In 2019 we launched Three Hands Insight, to put this learning at the centre.
Every insight project we devise and run has ‘lived experts’ – people at the sharp end of what life can throw at you – at its heart. We’ve developed our unique community of lived experts through a network of charities that we’ve worked with for many years – and experts from those charities often join sessions as ‘critical friends’ to share wider expertise and insight on the issues being discussed.
Throughout it all, our purpose has remained the same: to create business value and social value, hand in hand. Like any good purpose, it’s an anchor that defines what we do and how we do it, and it remains constant over time.

We are proud that our work creates impact on a number of levels:
Our team is made up of skilled researchers, facilitators, project managers, designers, third sector experts and videographers – all of the capabilities needed to design and run brilliant qualitative insight programmes.
Based in London, we work in a hybrid way and run projects in the virtual world and anywhere in the UK.
